What is COP17?

COP17 is the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, happening in Durban from 28 November to 9 December 2011.

The overall goal is decisive action on climate change. The planet needs a global deal that would commit countries to cutting their carbon emissions, stopping catastrophic climate change.

It is the first COP to be held in Africa, and will see approximately 15 000 delegates from over 190 countries arriving on our shores.

We are calling for the conference delegates to "Listen to the people, not the polluters" in their negotiations this year.
