Solar Powering Africa: Green Energy Demonstration in Dakar

During the World Social Forum in Dakar, Senegal, Greenpeace Africa put on a solar power demonstration. Renewable energy has the potential to free Africa from dependence on dirty coal, so it was fitting that the demonstration took place on the Island of Gorée, a location strongly tied to Africa's history of slavery.
