Last year, we asked the youth of the DRC what they thought the future of the Congo forests was, and they answered louder than we ever expected – we received 2600 poems that were real cries from the heart of youths who see the future of the forest and, by extension, their future being jeopardized by unsustainable forest management.
Now, we’re putting the winning poems into song!
Greenpeace’s Forest Song will be recorded by famous African musicians, and we want you to be in the video.
What we need from you:
- A video (up to 1 minute long) of you and at least two other people linking hands in a chain sequence.
- A recording of you saying the jingle for the song in your own language:
"Don’t destroy my forest, it is a part of me."
This anthemic call from the youth of the Congo forests will highlight the beauty of the second largest rainforest in the world, and why we need to protect and preserve it. Let us hear your voice!
