Thinking of volunteering with us? Well, all the information you need is right here.

Thanks for your interest in volunteering for Greenpeace Africa! Read through the points below, then fill out the volunteer form, and we'll be in touch.

Where Can You Get Involved?

We have a group of volunteers in Johannesburg, and we're hoping to get one going in Cape Town next year. Don't live in Johannesburg or Cape Town? Well, we still need you for desktop activism: helping out with translations, for example (especially if you can give us a hand with French to English, or English to French).

What do Volunteers do?

As a volunteer, you can spread the word online and in your local community, get hands-on experience in our campaigns, and help us raise vital funds for a greener, peaceful future.

Our Johannesburg-based group helps out with campaigns, raising awareness, painting banners, and organising fun events as part of Greenpeace campaigns. Then we also have volunteers who work in the office, whether in fundraising, campaigns, communications, or even logistics. In particular we are looking for people to help us out with translations, so if you are a language genius, we could really use your skills!

Check out a few photos of our volunteers in the slide show below.

What types of people are we looking for?

We need passionate, energetic people who are keen to make a difference. We're also looking for people with a variety of skills whether it's in design, carpentry, welding, painting, computer knowledge, admin tasks, or data analysis, etc. When you complete the application form, please make sure to include any skills you may have.

One more thing

As a Greenpeace volunteer, its important that you are aligned with Greenpeace's core values. You can see our values here.

2 years ago, I decided that the only way to change our situation was to do it myself, not wait for the gov to tell us to change. since then, with the help of treehuggers like me, we started the grass roots green revolution in SA, to date we have our second 300kw biogas waste to energy project running in South Africa. Here we are using slaughter waste to produce power and heat and reducing water use by 50%, the amount our food industry waste to feed us is just crazy. We have also started helping normal people change, by offering then grid connected solar PV systems that reduce their carbon footprint and saving them money, we have 1,7kW PV systems for under R45k.

I would like to get involved by donating a PV system to Greenpeace to have this as an example for people to see how this works and to give them the power to change their own lives and create their own energy.

Please contact me, so we can start, time is running out!!
