Last week was an inspiring one. We shared the amazing news that three quarters of the world want an Arctic Sanctuary and thousands of people went to new heights to show their love for the Arctic. People climbed atop the Great Wall of China, Mount Ruapehu in New Zealand and Burnaby Mountain in Vancouver, to name a few. The world has spoken. An Arctic Sanctuary makes sense and we need the international waters around the North Pole off-limts to oil drilling and commercial fishin. It's time for global leaders to heed the call.

To keep this momentum going we are taking to the streets to do even more to save the Arctic and make sure the right people hear our message. Will you join us?

On October 4th, join us for the second annual #IceRide! Last September, as the Arctic sea ice reached another historic low, thousands of people from all corners of the globe took to the streets to tell oil companies that we will not accept their dirty plans for drilling in the Arctic.

Again, this year we’ll celebrate the Arctic and use pedal power to demand protection for this truly unique area that regulates the world’s climate, and also serves as a home to four million people and amazing animals like the polar bear and walrus.

The #IceRide is a family friendly, creative bicycle parade with speeches, bands and costumes. Globally we expect more than 50,000 people to take to the streets in 40 cities to show both industry and decision makers that we are a dedicated movement, urging for action on climate change and Arctic protection. And that we are everywhere.

Across Canada we have rides scheduled in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, with more being planned as I write this!

You can help grow this historic movement and make it the most powerful of our time by joining us.

Don’t see an Ice Ride near you? Organize your own!
