30 May 2017 (LEKWUNGEN TERRITORY / VICTORIA) — A Greenpeace activist is currently climbing the flagpole at the B.C. Legislature in Victoria to deliver a message in celebration of yesterday’s announcement of an agreement between the Green Party and N.D.P.

30 May 2017 (LEKWUNGEN TERRITORY / VICTORIA) — A Greenpeace activist is currently climbing the flagpole at the B.C. Legislature in Victoria to deliver a message in celebration of yesterday’s announcement of an agreement between the Green Party and N.D.P.

Yesterday, B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver, announced that his party will support the B.C. NDP to form a minority government. Together, the two parties will hold 44 combined seats while the Liberals retain 43. Weaver called the issue of Kinder Morgan “critical” to his party, and hinted that more details will be revealed in an announcement to be made later today.

  • DETAILS: One Greenpeace climber, supported by several activists at the scene, is currently making her way up a flagpole in front of the Legislature. Upon reaching the top, she will raise a banner featuring a message to elected officials alongside the B.C. provincial flag. Music will be played. Spokespeople are available for media interviews. The activist will be available for interviews once the banner has been raised.
