The yatra team reached its second last destination-Chhapra, a land famous for the special ghee loaded dish, Litti chokha. The event was attended by women from local NGO groups. A lot of people working in the development sector also came to the event as chief guests and showed their support for renewable energy.

Women from the self help group spoke about the difficulties they face due to the shortage of electricity in Chhapra. They were especially concerned about the problems their children face in their academics due to power shortage. They were very positive about renewable energy and said that they are looking forward to more reliable electricity supply in their homes.

Also present at the event was chairman of the Zilla parishad, Ms Shobha Devi, who represents 44 wards in the region, each ward having a population of not less than 3000 people.

The event ended with an elaborate demonstration of solar gadgets, amongst which the mobile charger, as always, was a big hit. A lot of people inquired about the availability the gadgets we showed them. They were also determined to ask the political representatives to set up decentralized renewable energy plants in Bihar and signed pledges as a symbol of their determination.
