Activists demand: 'Separate oil and state' from top of iconic tower in Calgary, Canada

August 3, 2010: In the heart of Canada’s oil industry activists hang a huge 8 x 15 metre banner from the top of the 190-metre-tall iconic Calgary Tower. The banner reads “Separate Oil and State” and highlights the need to sever the cozy relationship between the toxic tar sands oil industry and the Canadian federal and provincial governments.
