25 activists from across Europe, including some dressed as polar bears, shut down a Shell petrol station near the World Economic Forum in Davos, in protest against the company’s Arctic drilling program off Alaska. Activists from Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy chain to fuel pumps together to stop them from operating, and place three tonnes of ice on the forecourt, blocking the station. Activists also unfurl banners reading: ‘Arctic Oil: Too Risky”
