A live-sized iceberg is placed by Greenpeace activists on the river Seine to demonstrate the impact of catastrophic climate change, one day before the start of the G8 summit. The iceberg, is designed to call upon French president Nicolas Sarkozy and his counterparts to start taking the lead on climate action during the G8 meeting of the eight richest and most polluting countries in the world. Within less than six months from the Copenhagen summit, they should commit to serious, binding emission cuts and and a commitment to renewable energy.
