Greenpeace has described the logging sector in the DRC as being in a state of "organised chaos". But it is far from the only country where illegal logging is widespread. In the rest of the Congo Basin - home to the world's second largest tropical rainforested area - and other countries in Africa, weak governance and corruption mean national laws are broken and environmental destruction and social discord are commonplace.
