In addition to chimpanzees, the study found other threatened mammals living in this forest. This includes other rare primates such as the vulnerable red-capped mangabey, the endangered drill and the critically endangered Preuss’s red colobus monkey. Forest elephants were also found, as were a number of fish species that are endemic to the region.
