Video | 6 March, 2010

Samutprakan, Thailand, 22 February 2010 -- Greenpeace Water Patrol activists take sediment samples from Bangnangkreng canal along Chao Phraya River in Samutprakan Province, around 30 kilometers from Bangkok. Hundreds of factories located in this area discharge their industrial effluents into the water. Greenpeace is calling on the Thai government to proactively tackle chemical contamination of Thailands water resources, beginning with the Chao Phraya River and initiate a legislation that makes it mandatory for industries to disclose all information on usage, release and transfer of hazardous chemicals as a first step to the eventual elimination of toxic chemicals from all industrial production.
