Maïa joins Greenpeace after a successful relaunch of The New Republic magazine where she worked as Photo and Multimedia Editor.
She's freelanced in various production capacities for journalism outlets like France 2 TV, Agence France-Presse, Voice of America Africa service and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. She previously was also an Associate Photo Editor at Discovery Communications/The Travel Channel. Her work has led her to cover stories about illegal logging in the DRC, and the situations in Haiti and Afghanistan, among others.
A graduate of Columbia's School of Journalism, Maïa is fluent in French, proficient in Spanish and can get by in Arabic.
