Executive summary: On February 7, 2006, a Dispute Settlement Panel at the World Trade Organization (WTO) issued its interim report in the European Communities - Measures affecting the Approval and Marketing of Biotech Products case. The report was the outcome of a 2003 complaint by US, Canada and Argentina. This paper analyses the impact of this ruling on international environmental law.
