Executive summary: GreenpeaceInternational,Charleston Peace, and Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League hereby petition the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a hearing on whether the NRC should grant a license to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to allow DOE to ship “up to 140 kg” of plutonium from the United States to France on British-flagged vessels for processing into plutonium Mixed Oxide (MOX) Lead Test Assemblies (LTAs) Petitioners also request leave to intervene in any proceeding that is otherwise convened by the NRC to consider this license application.
