Oceans campaigner Karli Thomas gets served a plate of jellyfish as Greenpeace launches a report into New Zealand's commercial fisheries and seafood sector. Titled While Stocks Last, Supermarkets and the Future of Seafood it warns commercial fishing is depleting fish stocks and damaging the marine environment and says supermarkets need to play a key role in creating a truly sustainable industry. The report was launched in Auckland from the the Jellyfish du Jour Cafe, set up for the occasion in QE11 Square. The cafe offered three dishes, derived from jellyfish, highlighting this may be the only marine species left in years to come. The CEOs from New Zealand's two major grocery retailers, Foodstuffs and Progressive Enterprises, were invited to lunch with Greenpeace oceans campaigner Karli Thomas but neither attended.
