Canberra

 

General Office Assistance - (1 or 2), Regular Part time

  We have an opportunity for a person to help our Political Liaison Team with office and general administration in our Canberra Office. This role suits someone with English to native speaker standard with a good knowledge of Canberra and the Australian political process.

  * Ideally a position for a person who can do one or two days of 5 to 6 hours each a week. May suit a later year student wanting practical experience, person returning to the workforce or other.

 

Botany Warehouse

 

Warehouse Assistants - (3), Regular Part time

  Opportunity for 3 people to get involved as part time warehouse assistants on a committed long term basis. One person needed for Mondays. Others flexible as to days. Training will be offered in the necessary areas to help do the work. This will involve everything from driving forklift, moving trailers, fixing & maintaining a range of equipment to helping prepare for events.

  * Ideally somebody who is reliable, fit and active, wants a challenge, proven record of responsibility and can give 2 days a week or more. Ideally can drive! Apply even if you can only do one day during the week but can do a regular day on the weekend, say once a month. Would particularly suit someone interested in developing as an activist over time.

 

Sydney

 

Engineers, Geologists, Quantity Surveyor, Gas Scientists, Project Managers, Researchers

  Opportunity to work on an analysis of the limitations of carbon capture and storage in an Australia context. Where are the storage areas, how secure are they, how big do they need to be, what infrastructure is necessary for compression and transport, what machinery is necessary, how long will it take to build, when will it be able to be commercially deployed at scale, how long will it take to fully deploy, can existing power stations be adapted and if so at what cost, how much will it cost? This role suits people with practical experience in the above areas. The goal is to prepare a detailed analysis and report to publication standard of the limitations of carbon capture and storage for Greenhouse gas emissions of coal fired power stations within Australia.

Data Entry and General Office Assistance

  There are regularly opportunities for general office assistance and data entry. This role suits someone with English to native speaker standard with a good knowledge of names commonly used in Australia for people, streets, suburbs.

  * hours by agreement - most volunteers do one 5-hour day a week, but some do more.


Occasional Bulk Mail Assistance

  Greenpeace does mailouts to our supporters including campaign updates and our supporter magazine, Making Waves. The mailouts involve putting printed materials into envelopes. Often these mailouts result in large volumes of incoming mail for a week or so after the mail out.

We appreciate the assistance of our volunteers in this work and if you think you could help out for a few days occasionally or a day a week, just email us.

  * hours by arrangement - on an "as needed and agreed when convenient" basis or one morning a week.
