Sean Kidney is a social change consultant based in Sydney.
He’s worked for 20 years on social marketing projects for governments,
unions, industry superannuation funds and not-for-profits.
He has worked on topics ranging from justice, literacy and mental
health, to combating racism, plain English and parenting support. He
considers climate change the most important issue now facing the globe.
In the 1980s he was the founding coordinator of Redfern Legal Centre
Publishing and Streetwize Youth Education Comics. In 1988 he founded
social marketing company, Social Change Media. In 1996 he co-founded
Social Change Online, a provider of online support to public interest
organisations in Australia and Europe. He was proprietor of progressive
publisher Pluto Press Australia for many years.
He serves on the Advisory Committee of the National Association for
Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, as an Executive member of the
Fabian Society, and as a board member of Cleardocs.com and of The
Australia Institute.
Sean has four daughters who help focus his thinking on sustainable futures.
