Salary: $94,671.09 per annum + superannuation

Overall purpose of the role

The Lead Developer will be responsible for integrating many of the systems Greenpeace Australia Pacific is adopting, along with being a champion of real time synchronisation and clean data. This role will work to write scalable code running across multiple web services, predominantly synchronising data as well as working to ensure it is of high quality and accessible to our team.

You love staying up to date with modern and emerging tools, processes and systems, always looking to find ways to improve the status quo. You’re flexible on implementation but rigid in quality standards.

Projects and Technologies

Technology at Greenpeace is undergoing great renewal. We’re throwing out old systems, and building out new ones. Automation and integration are the main players here. This role is about getting different tools - both off the shelf and custom - to play together nicely, all the while with an eye for making our data systems top notch.

Currently we are working on several major projects. Your role will be to act as a technical lead on these projects, bringing subject matter expertise to the table.

The team

The team you’ll work with includes data analysts, developers, and digital marketers. Agile methodologies are newly adopted, so there’s opportunity to help create and drive culture change as well.

Management has a technical background, so we have your back on expectations and delivery. We believe good communication is as important as good work, and having great culture delivers great projects.

The skills and experience you’ll need

  • 5+ years’ experience working in web applications
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, SQL, and encryption
  • Experience in data synchronisation
  • Experience and desire to work in an agile environment
  • Strong knowledge of web development paradigms
  • Strong knowledge of web development languages.
