In general
1. Personal or eductional use
Materials on this website are free to use for non-commercial, personal or educational purposes. Where material is used for such purposes we request that:
* The final draft content be sent to
webmanager@au.greenpeace.org. We can then check the content is being used in an accurate context and sign over release of the materials. This will also protect you; and
* You include a note saying "Source: Greenpeace (
http://www.greenpeace.org.au)" and reproduce any byline or copyright information from the original piece of work.
2. Use with permission
Certain uses of materials, for example for personal or corporate gain, will be allowed where you have express permission from Greenpeace. Please contact
webmanager@au.greenpeace.org to gain permission.
3. Prohibited uses
Greenpeace expressly forbids the use of any Greenpeace website material for:
* Political advertising or the suggestion of endorsement by Greenpeace of any candidate for public office.
* Any suggestion of Greenpeace endorsement of a product, event, publication, web site or policy where such endorsement has not explicitly been made by Greenpeace.
* Any suggestion of Greenpeace endorsement of violence or property destruction.
* Any false representation of yourself as a Greenpeace office, employee, agent, supporter or official spokesperson.
The logo
"Greenpeace", including the Greenpeace logo and "Rainbow Warrior" are internationally registered trademarks of Stichting Greenpeace Council.
You may use the trademarks on the condition that your use is purely for reverential and non-commercial purposes.
The trademarks remain the exclusive property of Greenpeace, and by using them you agree that you shall not, in any way whatsoever, register or attempt to register or challenge them.
Do not use the trademarks in any way liable to invalidate their registration; the right to use the trademarks is granted only to the extent that Greenpeace is able to do so without endangering the validity of the registrations.
Greenpeace also asserts that the logo is copyright.
If you use the logo, please include "TM and Copyright Stichting Greenpeace Council" in the alt tag or visibly on the page.
For images
Any image that is "Copyright Greenpeace" on our website can be freely copied for personal or educational use, provided you reproduce the copyright information. You can see copyright information in the full-sized pop-up of any image by clicking on the thumbnail. In some cases, images are simply copyright Greenpeace. In others, you'll see copyright Greenpeace/photographer. Please reproduce the entire copyright line.
Any other use, such as using images for personal or corporate gain, require permission from the Greenpeace Australia Pacific photo and video library. ommercial use of any Greenpeace image without permission would constitute copyright infringement and might infringe other rights.
News images of reproduction quality (around eight megabyte in size) distributed by Greenpeace to journalists and agencies via this site are intended for use within 14 days, and archiving of these images is strictly forbidden. After 14 days, please contact Greenpeace at the address below:
