Forest Crime Scene Action in Sydney

Photo | 1 August, 2011

Greenpeace activists dressed as orangutans deliver certifiably sustainable timber to the workers to replace the illegal timber being used on the construction of Central Park in Sydney's CBD. With this action the activists have established a 'Forest Crime Scene' after investigations by Greenpeace have revealed that timber from the rainforests of Sarawak in the Malaysian Borneo is being bought and sold across Australia. The organisation is calling for tighter legislation to shut down the illegal timber trade in the country. 07/27/2011
