Sydney

Digital Assistant

1-2 days a week for a minimum three months, required for immediate start.

Tasks

  • Uploading content to www.greenpeace.org.au using the CMS
  • Providing social media support to the team, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
  • Creating a social media content calendar
  • Researching blog content
  • Archiving supporter email communications

The Digital Assistant will take ownership of projects

Key Skills

  • An understanding of and thirst for social media
  • Good writing skills
  • Proactive attitude
  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) is a bonus
  • Enjoyment of blogging

This position would suit someone who is willing to help out with mundane tasks although there will be the opportunity to get involved in creative projects too.

Outreach Assistant

1-2 days a week for a minimum three months, required for immediate start.

Tasks:

Updating and managing the Volunteer records on our database. This will include
updates from communications, participation in activities and registering new
volunteers' interests and skills for future projects.

The Outreach Assistant will need to understand and work to the procedures and protocols across the volunteer programs for Greenpeace. Working on database and
closely with the Mobilisation Manager to address issues and work through changes
as necessary.

The Outreach Assistant will be in charge of welcoming new volunteers to the Greenpeace volunteer programs and new registrations to the Reef Defender program. They will
have access to the volunteer email address with responsibilities on responding to communications from our volunteers.

Key Skills or Experience:

  • Experience working with databases
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Organised and able to work independently
  • Confidentiality and sensitivity handling personal data
  • Commitment to Greenpeace and our core values

This role would suit someone who enjoys phone work.  Preference will be given to those available on Thursdays and Fridays.

Supporter Relationships Assistant

1-3 days per week on an ongoing basis (minimum three months) required ASAP.

The Supporter Relationships Assistant will be working within the team responsible for providing warm, friendly, informed and energetic interaction with Greenpeace’s financial and non-financial supporters, and the general public. The Supporter Relationships Assistant will be primarily responsible for updating non-financial supporter information.

Tasks:

  • Updating supporter non-financial information and communication preferences using Raiser's Edge database
  • Responding to supporter emails using existing templates
  • Efficient data entry of supporter non-financial information using Excel
  • Flagging returned supporter mail by scanning barcodes
  • Ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Supporter Relationships Team Leader

Key Skills or Experience:

  • Computer literacy
  • Efficient and accurate data entry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commitment to Greenpeace and our core values
  • Experience using a database - having Raiser’s Edge database experience is a big plus!

This role would suit anyone who finds completing administration tasks satisfying.

Investigations Assistant

2-3 days/week for a minimum of 8 weeks, applications welcome, positions arise periodically

Tasks:
•    Data/information retrieval from disparate information sources including:
o    Industry/ government publications
o    Scientific literature
o    Databases
o    Advanced web searches

•    Processing and collating this information using tools such as spreadsheets and possibly databases
•    Presenting research outcomes in reports

Key Skills or Experience:

  • Methodical approach to research
  • IT literate (advanced but not programing) eg  Excel
  • Patience
  • Science/ engineering background or aspirations preferred
  • Willing to do repetitive or time consuming research tasks for campaign (there will be fun bits too!)

This position is somewhat flexible and would suit a variety of applicants with the position tailored to their individual skill set.
