How do you choose good wood?
There are timber and timber products available in Australia that come from reputable, ethically and ecologically sustainable sources. They are certified FSC timber.
Invest in your future
Many of Australia's imported timber products are illegally harvested from ancient forests close to home. Around 90 per cent of Indonesian’s timber is illegally logged, according to its own government. In Papua New Guinea, illegal logging is linked to corruption, environmental destruction and human rights abuses. This timber is sold in Australia.
Ask your timber merchant where their timber or timber product came from. If they don't know, don't buy it.
