Urgent protection for the Paradise Forests is needed now. Strong, responsible governments can save the forest from large-scale illegal logging.

Global governments and corporations must offer protection for the Paradise Forests before it is too late.

Greenpeace demands governments:
  • set up a global network of protected forest areas
  • ban illegal and destructive logging
  • ban imports of illegal timber and timber products
  • promote socially and ecologically responsible forest management
  • support efforts by countries that produce timber to combat corruption and strengthen law enforcement.
International programs such as the Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) process are a starting point. The challenge is to ensure they are effective against illegal logging.
