Make history at the year’s biggest environmental film event - The Age of Stupid. The premiere screening will take place at locations across Australia, followed by a special live panel discussion with the director and actor.

The Age of Stupid stars Oscar-nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite (The Usual Suspects) as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055. Looking back at news footage, he asks: "why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?"

This must-see film from director Franny Armstrong (McLibel) premieres in Australia’s biggest and greenest live film event on 19 August – and you’re invited. The premiere will be held at Sydney Theatre, and beamed live to over  50 cinemas across the country. A-list celebrities will inundate the premiere, rolling up to the green carpet by bicycle, solar car, rickshaw or electric car. So, you can be part of cinema history no matter where you live.

Meet the director and actor

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring actor Pete Postlethwaite, director Franny Armstrong, Senator Christine Milne (Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens) and our own John Hepburn (Greenpeace Climate Campaign Coordinator).

This half-hour discussion will also be screened across the country. Australian polar explorer and guide, Eric Phillips, will join the panel via satellite from northwest Greenland. Eric and the crew of Greenpeace's ship, the Arctic Sunrise, are currently on a mission to document climate change impacts in the Arctic region.
