3 June 2007: Greenpeace energy campaiger, Ben Pearson. Around 400 
people from all over New South Wales gathered at the Anvil Hill site 
in the NSW Hunter Valley to form a huge human sign reading "Save Anvil 
Hill". Anvil Hill, one of many proposed for the Hunter Valley, will 
produce an extra 27 million tonnes of the greenhouse gas carbon 
dioxide each year - equal to four million more cars on New South Wales 
roads.

The Iemma government has approved the massive Anvil Hill coal mine, creating 27 million tonnes of additional climate changing CO2 each year. This is a slap in the face to communities throughout New South Wales who are worried about climate change and want real action to stop it. The state Labor government acts in the interests of coal industry profits, not the people of New South Wales.
