Sydney, Australia — The official Greenpeace team finished the Sydney City to Surf today, headed by actor Toni Collette, in what proved to be a great day for the planet.

Over 100 sponsored runners joined Ms Collette and the Greenpeace team, raising vital funds to help Greenpeace continue working to protect the environment.

Ms Collette said, “I had a great day and was proud to walk for Greenpeace."

Greenpeace Special Projects Coordinator Holly Wheeler said, “We would like to extend a big thank you to all of our sponsored runners and walkers, whose efforts to help Greenpeace protect the environment are much appreciated.

“Thanks also to those who couldn't enter the event but showed their support for the Greenpeace team by making a sponsor donation. You can still make a donation by calling 1800 815 151 or by visiting http://www.greenpeace.org.au/support/donations.php” she said.

“This is the first year Greenpeace has had an official team in the event, and it was so successful we hope to have a team running every year,” Ms Wheeler added.

Toni Collette was joined by her musician husband David Galafassi, along with other famous names including Lonely Planet travel publishing co-founder Tony Wheeler, and Julian Morrow and Chas Licciardello of ABC TV’s CNNNN and satirical newspaper The Chaser.
