Greenpeace finds whalers

Greenpeace ships are confronting the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Our activists are in inflatable boats to hamper whaling operations Through a radio message, we called on the Fisheries Agency of Japan (FAJ) whaling fleet to leave the sanctuary and stop killing whales immediately.

Illegal timber trucks stopped in Australia

Trucks carrying illegal timber have been stopped in a peaceful Greenpeace action in Brisbane, Queensland. The timber comes from the ancient Paradise Forests of Melanesia, among the world's last remaining rainforests.

Australia fails (again) on climate negotiations

At the first global climate negotiations since the Kyoto Protocol became law, Environment Minister Senator Campbell has continued Australia's spoiler role. Thanks to his efforts and those of the US delegates, the conference is unlikely to reach any agreement on strong binding targets for Phase Two of Kyoto, beyond 2012.

The world walks against warming

On 3 December, thousands worldwide pounded footpaths in a global walk against warming. This united effort called on governments to quit coal and move to clean energy.
