Government jeopardises wind energy solution

In 2004, Australia's installed wind power almost doubled and there are projects approved or under construction that will quadruple it again. Once they’re all on line, wind will be supplying enough energy to power some 750,000 homes.

Vega enters military exercise exclusion zone in peaceful protest

UPDATE: Vega skipper Chris Robinson has been arrested, and charged for disobeying a direction given by a police officer and entering a department of defence exclusion zone. Chris was issued with a summons to appear in court in Rockhampton, Queensland, on July 8.

Victory for whales!

The International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting continues this week in Ulsan, South Korea. That means whales are again threatened by the pro-whaling nations that seek a return to commercial whaling. Thank you to the thousands of Australian and Pacific anti-whaling supporters who, with one voice, have said no to whaling! More than 18,500 of you have signed our whaling petition to the Australian government, asking for greater protection for whales in our region.
