outfit - The unloading of the first ever shipment of genetically
engineered canola to land in Australia was blockaded today at
Kooragang Island by Greenpeace activists who declared the site a
biohazard. Greenpeace wants to prevent GE contanimated canola from
sneaking unwanted and unlabelled into the foodchain.

Our GE Control team sets out to peacefully block the shipment of genetically engineered (GE) canola seeds. International grains trader Cargill discreetly imported the shipment of Canadian GE canola into Newcastle, NSW, on 3 December 2006. It’s destined for our margarine and canola oil, and for animal feed for the poultry and dairy industries.
