In September, we defended our oceans from overfishing and welcomed whales activist, Toru Suzuki, to Australia. A green graffiti operation announced the launch of the Dirty Kev pledge website and Dirty Kevvers flashmobbed.
In August, our spectacular peaceful protest shone the spotlight on Kevin Rudd's coal expansion, big names in the timber industry pressured the government on illegal logging and our Arctic expedition continued to document dire climate warnings in Greenland.
In July, we continued our ship tour of the Pacific, launched the Alcoholic Drinks edition of the True Food Guide and caught up with an Australian explorer helping Greenpeace in the Arctic.
June saw the start of the 'Our Climate, Our Future' ship tour of the Pacific with Greenpeace ship Esperanza. In Australia, thousands attended a climate rally and, in Portugual, the International Whaling Commission met.
Thanks to our supporters, 2008 was a non-stop year for Greenpeace across all our campaigns. Through your actions, you showed that the power of many can force positive environmental change. So thanks for the support and we’ll be counting on working with you again in 2009, creating an Energy [R]evolution!
