Greenpeace sure made a difference in the Australia Pacific region in 2003. We helped the Wilderness Society work to save the magnificent Styx Valley in Tasmania by erecting the world’s tallest tree-sit, halted an Iraq-bound warship as it left Sydney harbour, exposed illegal logging in PNG, supported community and farmer opposition to genetically engineered food and crops in Australia, and continued our efforts to stop the development of a shale oil industry in Australia.
