The change of government in Japan in a landslide victory to the Democratic Party of Japan (DJP) provides new hope of a shift on Japan’s whaling policies.
Last week in Japan, Greenpeace exposed a major scandal around the theft of whale meat from the factory whaling ship, Nisshin Maru, and the abuse of taxpayers funding, which has been allowed to continue in the knowledge of officials from the Institute of Cetacean Research and the whaling fleet operators, Kyodo Senpaku.
