The first batch of ecotimber from Lake Murray, Papua New Guinea, has arrived in Australia. Follow the journey as Greenpeace helps local forest communities wrestle their land back from illegal and destructive loggers to set up their own small-scale ecoforestry ventures.

For the last three years Greenpeace has been working with forest communities in the area to help them set up small scale ecoforestry ventures, which enable them to preserve their forests and traditional values while also gaining some financial returns.

Ecoforestry is a real and viable route to sustainable development for PNG, and it also provides high quality, legally harvested ecotimber to Australian consumers.

Watch the video slideshow below to find out more about the ventures.
