Once your activity or campaign is over, it pays to evaluate.
Spending a little time re-evaluating the campaign at the end of each major stage will help you identify the highs and lows, learn from the experience, adjust your plans accordingly and move on.
To evaluate an activity or a campaign, answer these questions:
Did you achieve what you set out to do? If not, why not?
Did you end up targeting the right audience?
How was the campaign received externally (by the media, government, industry, your community)?
Were there any problems of co-operation/co-ordination within the group?
If so, how do you plan to resolve any tension in the group?
Were your timelines realistic?
How is your budget looking?
What looks like the likely next direction for your groups’ activities?
Who needs immediate follow-up? (eg, thank you letters to donors, setting appointments with politicians, or new allies)
Celebrate!
The end of a campaign or campaign landmark is a very positive time. It can also be an emotional rollercoaster so it is vital to recharge your batteries in the good times. So celebrate your campaign's milestones!
