For the local office in Bulgaria, Greenpeace is looking for a

Digital Communications officer


Responsibilities will involve the following:

  • Creating press releases, web pieces, opinion pieces, social media content and other communications materials
  • Maintaining the website of the organization and the data bases
  • Managing the social media channels of the organization
  • Contacting journalists; placing campaign stories and messages and advising on the media in Bulgaria
  • Organizing press conferences and other media events
  • Contributing to communications campaign strategy
  • Collaboration with international Greenpeace offices and colleagues and other NGOs

We are looking for someone with experience (2+ years) and following skills:


  • Experience of managing websites via CMS such as WordPress
  • Knowing of email marketing and database management system
  • Managing online ad systems (AdWords, Facebook Ads)
  • Analytical skills
  • Excellent English, written and spoken
  • Must be fluent in, and have perfect Bulgarian grammar (native or C2)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good rhetoric/communications skills and persuasive power
  • A genuine passion and enthusiasm for Greenpeace´s mission and environmental protection
  • University degree, preferably journalism, marketing, PR,  social sciences
  • Basic design, HTML and JS skills


  • A track record of delivering successful communications campaigns in the public, private or not-for-profit sector
  • Storytelling
  • Understanding of different audience segmentation models
  • Knowledge of the Bulgarian media and how to place stories that create an impact
  • Good knowledge of social media communication channels
  • A contact list of Bulgarian journalists
