A global movement is emerging to help save the Arctic and nearly four million citizens from around the world have signed up to show they want to protect this region from risky development.
Encouraged by this outcry of support, on September 15th, Greenpeace is organizing a global day of action to bring together the millions of people who have spoken up to protect the Arctic. Large-scale, family friendly bike rides are being organized across the globe in 75 communities, on 6 continents, and people will gather on that day to show that with a unified voice we can tell governments and industry to take real action on climate change and protect the Arctic from oil drilling and industrial fishing.
In Canada, Ice Rides are taking place in seven cities: Calgary, Kelowna, Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrook, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Add your voice to the massive call for change. On September 15th, hop on your bike and join the Ice Ride in your area. Dress up as your favourite Arctic animal, wear white or blue and help us gather support for one of the most critical issues of our time. For more information, including the list of rides as well as Arctic-themed bike decals and other decorations, visit greenpeace.ca/iceride. Are you in?
