You’re invited!   Kick off Bike Month with some cycling activism!

What: A bike ride in support of renewable energy from the Pickering to Darlington nuclear stations.

When: Sunday May 26, starting at 11 am and ending at 4 pm.

Where:  Cyclists will gather in Alex Robertson Park in front of the Pickering nuclear station starting at 10:30 am and depart together at 11 am.   We’ll then ride the Waterfront Trail to the Darlington nuclear station (approximately 45 km).  See:

Who:  Cyclists, friends of green energy and you!   This event is being organized by Greenpeace volunteers.

How: Please RSVP at  or on our Facebook page here:    We are organizing lunch in Whitby as well as a bus for cyclists from downtown Toronto, but you must register for the bus.   A Go Train from Union Station departing at 9:13 am will also get you to Pickering by 9:49.  West Bound Go Trains will get you to Pickering by 10:00.  See schedules here:

Why: Because you want a renewable energy future for Ontario!

While other countries are replacing their nuclear reactors with green power, Ontario wants to spend tens of billions to rebuild old and build new reactors at Darlington instead of modern renewable energy.  That’s wrong.

So on May 26th, please join us for the Ride for Renewables.   We’ll ride together to tell Premier Wynne “Don’t Nuke Green Energy!”
