News today is that the Quebec government which owns the vast public forests of province, which sets the laws and regulations, which oversees how businesses operates, which sets the rules... is having a difficult time talking to Resolute. Such a difficult time that they have hired a high powered mediator, one of the experts who helped negotiate the softwood lumber dispute that went on for years, to assist them in talking to Resolute.
I guess we at Greenpeace aren't the only ones finding dealing with Resolute difficult. [Not to mention virtually all the other national environmental organizations that work on forestry issues - see story here].
Oh and in case you didn't know, Resolute is suing Greenpeace, my colleague Shane and I for $7,000,000. It's a new form of 'collaborative' model.
