Greenpeace, 8 other environmental groups and 21 of the largest logging companies in Canada announce the Canadian Boreal Forest Conservation Agreement, the largest accord of its kind anywhere in the world. The three-year agreement is a road map of conservation planning for 70 million hectares of Boreal wilderness. Under the accord, logging in virtually woodland caribou habitat will be suspended. Greenpeace calls upon provincial governments to immediately support this historic agreement.
