Politicians' Pledge
Help us get all Canadian Politicians to support
KYOTOplus by taking the Pledge
The politicians pledge is a key part of the KYOTOplus
campaign. We need to pressure all Canadian politicians to get
behind tough federal action on global warming.

KYOTOplus.
As of August 25, 2009, 140 Members of Parliament (MPs) had
signed the Pledge. There are 305 Members of Parliament in total*,
so we only need 13 more to have a majority of 153 MPs supporting
the KYOTOplus Pledge.
Check the Red List above. If your MP has not signed the Pledge,
then send him/her an E-mail, make a telephone call, or send a
letter.
The Pledge calls on Canada to cut greenhouse gas emissions at
least 25 per cent from 1990 levels by 2020. International climate
scientists say cuts of at least 25 per cent are needed NOW, in
order to prevent a climate catastrophe.
The pledge also calls on all politicians to make sure Canada
supports a new global agreement to strengthen and extend the Kyoto
Protocol at the historic United Nations climate change conference
in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009.
*As Parliamentary Speaker, the Hon. Peter
Milliken (Kingston and the Islands) is unable to sign petitions. As
a result he is not listed on either the "green" or "red" list for
KYOTOplus.
