Take action to prevent the extinction of Ontario’s woodland caribou
Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty has not kept his promise to protect woodland caribou habitat and has instead put dwindling caribou herds on a countdown to extinction.
Greenpeace is campaigning to get the Premier to keep his promise to save this threatened, iconic species.
Take action to tell Premier McGuinty to protect intact caribou habitat and sustainable forestry jobs in Ontario
Support the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement
Greenpeace and eight other leading environmental groups have signed an historic agreement with the major forestry companies in Canada to ensure protection of large areas of wilderness in Canada’s boreal forest, including protection of vital habitat of the threatened woodland caribou. The Agreement will also lead to significant improvements in forest management. Read more.

Use your green buying power: go reusable or buy recycled
Read Greenpeace Canada’s Guide to Recycled Tissue and Toilet Paper. Use reusable cloth products where possible or buy recycled products wherever possible. Companies will continue to manufacture products that hurt our ancient forests unless we demand otherwise.
Look for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo
Look for the FSC logo on wood and paper products. FSC is the only credible forest certification. If you cannot find FSC-certified products, ask your retailer to stock them. Click here to learn more about the FSC.
