Mr. Paterson was an undergraduate at Cornell University and holds an MBA degree from the University of Michigan. He served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bowater Incorporated from January 2007 to October 2007 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Bowater Incorporated from May 2006 to October 2007. Mr. Paterson was Executive Vice President of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, in charge of its Building Products Division from 2003 to 2006. At various times from 2000 to 2006, Mr. Paterson has been responsible for Georgia-Pacific"s Pulp and Paperboard Division, Paper and Bleached Board Division, and Communication Papers Division. Mr. Paterson joined Georgia-Pacific in 1987.
Mr. Grandmont has had a long career in the forest products industry and holds a B.A. in Industrial Relations from the University of Laval, Québec. Working within various roles within Abitibi-Consolidated he has served as: Vice President, Human Resources, General Manager at the Alma and Kénogami mills in Québec; and, most recently, Senior Vice President, Commercial Printing Papers for Abitibi-Consolidated.
Mr. Harvey is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and an MBA from the University of Toronto. His extensive career in finance has included a variety of executive positions at Avenor and Bowater and, now currently as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Bowater.
With a degree in business administration from the Université du Québec, Mr. Laflamme is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Beginning his career in the forest products industry with Donohue in1981, he has held many positions in sales and finance, most recently in the position of Senior Vice President, Woodlands and Sawmills, for Abitibi-Consolidated.
Denis Leclerc joined Bowater Inc. in 2007 and later served as Abitibi-Consolidated’s Director of Public Affairs. Currently Mr. Leclerc serves as Abitibi Bowater’s Vice President of Sustainability and the Environment.
Mr. Melkerson holds a B.Sc. in Business Science from Indiana University and an MBA/MMA from Northwestern University. With more than 20 years of experience in executive sales and management positions for Abitibi-Price and Abitibi-Consolidated, Mr. Melkerson previously held the position of Vice President, International Newsprint Sales, for Abitibi-Consolidated.
Mr. Rougeau’ schooling involves a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Louis University and a M.Sc. in finance from Sherbrooke University, Québec. Working in investment banking for over 20 years, he has acted as Managing Director and Head of Forest Products for UBS Warburg (Canada) and was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer, for Abitibi-Consolidated.
Mr. Streed received mechanical engineering degree from the University of Mississippi. His professional career in the forest products industry has included positions with Georgia-Pacific and Domtar before joining Bowater as Executive Vice President of Operations and Process Improvement.
Mr. Vachon is a member of the Quebec Bar, holds an Executive program diploma in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Stanford University in California, and is a graduate in law from Sherbrooke University. Prior to the merger, Mr. Vachon served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Secretary, for Abitibi-Consolidated.
With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas, Mr. Wright has gone on to hold executive positions within Weyerhaeuser and Georgia-Pacific. Before the AbitibiBowater merger, Mr. Wright served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources, for Bowater.
