In the wake of the Japanese nuclear disaster, countries around the world are re-thinking their plans to build new nuclear reactors.

But not in Ontario, where Premier Dalton McGuinty's government says it will charge full-speed ahead on building new reactors at the Darlington site. Opposition leader Tim Hudak says he'd build them even faster, and tear up the Green Energy Act to leave more space for nuclear.

Spending tens of billions on new reactors will drain funding from affordable green energy, create radioactive waste, and lead to an increased risk of accidents.

However, the government is shutting out these concerns. Public hearings on the environmental assessment of the new build start March 21st, but any discussion of nuclear accidents, emergency planning, or greener alternatives is off the table.

That is why we need you to write to Premier McGuinty and Mr. Hudak to encourage them to rethink their commitment to new nuclear reactors, when green energy is cheaper and safer option.

Send Premier McGuinty an email to demand that he Stop Darlington, protect citizens and invest in green energy.
