Greenpeace demands responsible fish farming

    •     Greenpeace advocates the removal of all fish farms from B.C. waters and the transfer of all fin fish farming to closed containment or land-based pens.

    •     Greenpeace opposes any new open netcage fish farms or the expansion of any current farms on the coast.

    •     In the face of overwhelming international and local research illustrating the negative impact fin fish open netcage farms have on local wild stocks, Greenpeace demands all fish farms in the sensitive Broughton Archipelago be removed.

    •     As a first step toward phase-out, Greenpeace demands the immediate fallowing of all sites in the Broughton Archipelago to provide emergency protection for the ecosystem and declining pink salmon and herring.
