Finding creative solutions is critical to the future of the Great Bear Rainforest.

Greenpeace feels that future solutions are based on shifts in the marketplace where decision-makers worldwide make purchase choices everyday that affect ancient forests.

As independent science and many creative solutions and negotiations have constructively formed the basis for consensus on land use recommendations.

In the meantime, Greenpeace has been actively involved in the development of a forest management certification system that guides sustainable use solutions.

Using the global spotlight our campaign has brought to the region Greenpeace is engaged in work to realize the potential of a diversified conservation economy and reduce the need for resource extraction based on short-term gains with limited benefits to local communities.
