We must act now for the future.

Scientists agree that to prevent catastrophic climate change we must keep the average increase in global temperature as far below 2 degree Celsius as possible (relative to the pre-industrial level).

Your help has never been more important. Governments have been warned about the potentially catastrophic consequences if climate change is ignored. But Canada's government is still not listening. Instead, it is trying to block international action and delay implementing effective policy solutions at home.

In December 2009, Copenhagen will host the United Nations climate change conference to strengthen and extend the Kyoto Protocol — KYOTOplus.

KYOTOplus is about turning past failure in Ottawa into leadership on climate change.

Greenpeace is conducting a 2-hour workshop on how to lobby your Member of Parliament, with former Member of Parliament Lynn McDonald, and Greenpeace Climate Coordinator, Dave Martin. The workshop will provide background on climate change issues, as well as practical advice on lobbying your Member of Parliament.

Greenpeace and Renewable Energy Industry Call for Energy Revolution to survive

Greenpeace and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) have released the Energy [R]evolution: A Sustainable Canada Energy Outlook, a new report detailing a revolutionary green energy scenario for Canada that could cut this country’s greenhouse gas emissions dramatically by 2020.

Greenpeace blocks ‘easy way out’ for EU finance ministers. Hundreds of Greenpeace activists from across Europe have blocked the exits of the Brussels building where EU finance ministers are discussing funding for developing nations to tackle climate change. Activists displayed banners in several languages asking EU politicians to “Sav€ the Climate” and “Bail out the Planet”. The Greenpeace activists ‘sealed’ the building and called on ministers not to come out without money on the table to tackle climate change, rather than to continue dishing out billions of taxpayers’ money for failed banks and carmakers. Climate negotiators back out again in Bonn

Another round of climate talks is over, this time in Bonn, Germany. Once again negotiators are leaving without a plan or having left any money on the table to tackle climate change.
