Taking Stock: Ranking supermarkets on seafood sustainability

 

There is a sea change beginning behind the fish counters in Canadian supermarkets. Information is being gathered, policies are being developed and rumblings of tougher standards are rippling up the supply chain to fisheries and fish farms. But only the beginnings of the change to come can be seen on supermarket shelves, which are still laden with overfished and destructively fished and farmed seafood.
