Greenpeace is launching a KYOTOplus election campaign to convince Canadians to elect a government that will take action on global warming. We’re campaigning in this election because the threats from global warming are real and the need for action is urgent.
Since the launch of the Sustainable Seafood campaign, Greenpeace volunteers have visited supermarkets across the country, talking to customers about the issues and asking them to contact companies like Loblaw to demand sustainable seafood policies. As thousands of postcards were being delivered to store managers, Greenpeace members were busy emailing and calling their supermarkets, voicing concern over the health of the oceans.
The two Greenpeace Japan activists, arrested and charged for intercepting a box of whale meat illegally smuggled off the Japanese whaling fleet, have been released on bail, after 26 days in custody.
